'King of Pop' Michael Jackson is dead
'King of Pop' Michael Jackson died today at the UCLA Medical Center after he was brought in by paramedics who found him not breathing at his home, according to various reports.Michael Jackson's brother says it's believed that the pop star died of cardiac arrest. Jermaine Jackson cautioned at a hospital press conference Thursday that the cause of his death would not be known until an autopsy was performed.
He said Michael Jackson's personal doctor and paramedics tried to resuscitate him at his rented home in Holmby Hills. A team of doctors at UCLA Medical Center also tried for more than an hour.
Los Angeles police Lt. Gregg Strenk said at a separate news conference that police robbery-homicide detectives have been ordered to investigate, which is common in a high-profile case. Strenk says the coroner's office, which will handle inquiries into the type of death, is taking possession of the body.
Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Steve Ruda said earlier that paramedics were called to Jackson's home at 12:26 p.m. They performed CPR and took him to the medical center. He was in a deep coma and was later pronounced dead by doctors.
Michael Jackson's mother and at least some of his brothers reportedly had gathered at UCLA Medical Center to await news on Jackson's condition.
Jackson, 50, rose to fame alongside his brothers as the lead singer of the Jackson Five in the late 1960s. Before he had reached his teens,the group scored a string of No. 1 hits such as "I Want You Back" and "ABC." But Jackson went on to even greater success as a solo artist. He became a global megastar in 1982 with the release of "Thriller," which spawned seven Top 10 hits and remains one of the two bestselling albums in history.
Jackson remained a major star for the next decade, but as the years passed he began receiving more attention for his eccentric behavior than for his music. In 1993, he was hit with the first of several accusations of child sexual abuse. Jackson eventually settled with the child's family out of court, and no charges were brought. A separate case resulted in a heavily publicized trial in 2005; he was eventually acquitted.
Earlier this year, Jackson announced his return to live performance with a series of 50 concerts in London, slated to begin July 13.

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus has landed in another picture controversy after photos showing her in a provocative pose were posted by her latest movie producer on Twitter.In one of the photos, 16-year-old Cyrus can be seen sitting backwards on a chair.
Another picture shows her posing with 44-year-old filmmaker Adam Shankman directly behind her, reports the Sun.
Shankman, who directed fellow Disney star Zac Efron in Hairspray, produces Cyrus' new movie 'The Last Song'.
The teenage actress was forced to apologize last year when, aged only 15, she posed in revealing pictures for Vanity Fair magazine.

Lilly Allen wears blonde wig for date with ex-boyfriend
British pop star Lily Allen wore a platinum blonde wig for a dinner date with her ex-boyfriend Seb Chew.Dailymail.co.uk reports that Allen also wore a transparent hippy-style spaghetti-strap top, and silky black trousers and carried an orange hand bag.
She shocked onlookers by going out with Seb Chew whom she had dated for two-and-a-half years. The two are still close friends and Allen has often sought solace in the arms of Chew in tough times.
Allen was recently romantically involved with millionaire art dealer Jay Jopling and also confessed that she is scared she will end up alone.
Rachel Hunter's fiance dumps her two months before wedding
Former supermodel Rachel Hunter has been dumped by her much younger fiance Jarret Stoll less than two months before the wedding and she is devastated by his decision.He informed the guests through email that the wedding was cancelled, but did not explain why he is doing so, thesun.co.uk reported.
"She is absolutely devastated. Everything was in place for their wedding - she had the venue, the designer dress, the guest list. She has absolutely no idea why Jarret has done this. It sounds like it could be a classic case of cold feet. He is a fair bit younger than her," said a source close to Hunter.
Jarret is 27 and Hunter is 40. Hunter was married to the rock legend Rod Stewart and wanted to start a new family with Stoll. Stewart and Hunter still remain good friends.
"Rod has been amazing through all of this - a real support," said a source.
Salman's 10 Ka Dum Hulchul!
Salman Khan's upcoming next, Wanted's team recently shot for his reality game show 10 Ka Dum.His co-star in the film, Ayesha Takia Azmi and director of the film, Prabhu Deva were his star guests as part of their film’s promotion.
A source reveals, “Prabhu Deva and Ayesha were on the show to promote their film Wanted with Salman asking them several questions about the film. Ayesha completely looked like she was having a ball. The highlight of the episode was Salman’s impromptu jig with Prabhu Deva. Watching them both having fun, Ayesha couldn’t resist herself and joined them. The three of them then set the stage on fire. She was glowing and looked so amused and in awe of Salman.â€
Prabhu Deva, who was last seen in Dance India Dance and Nach Baliye, was heard saying that this was a completely different experience for him. Wanted will be an Eid release coming up in cinema halls across the world on September 18th.
Emma Watson does not want to 'act' anymore?
Harry Potter star Emma Watson has hinted that she may give up her Hollywood career, saying she does not feel a burning desire to act.The 19-year-old, who shot to prominence by starring as Hermione Granger in the hit wizard series, revealed she would not oblige any role that did not appeal to her fancy.
"There''s not a burning passion in me that I have to act and I don''t care what I do,†the Sun quoted her as saying in an interview with Teen Vogue.
She added: "Until something comes along that I feel as strongly about as I did Hermione - like, I felt that it was life or death - I don''t want to act again."
The actress previously revealed she wanted to go back to being a ''''proper, proper nerd''''.
The French-born British star is reportedly due to begin college at the esteemed Yale University in September.
Angelina Jolie 'angry with Megan Fox over Tomb Raider role'
Angelina Jolie is said to be furious at Megan Fox after she learnt that the young starlet may play the lead role in the next 'Tomb Raider' film.The prequel will focus on Lara Croft's younger years. And therefore, the Oscar-winner has been given the boot in favour of the fresh-faced Megan, reports The Sun.
A source said: 'Angie was intent on reprising her role. She feels it's something she helped define and feels robbed that it looks likely to be handed to someone who she considers less capable than her.'
The new movie's executive producer, Dan Lin, told about.com: 'It is an origin story so it is a younger Lara Croft. It will have character-driven action.'
A source added: 'Angie isn't a fan of the Transformers films and believes Megan won't do the Lara Croft character justice. She's also annoyed because she thinks Megan copies everything from her, from her tattoos to her style.'
